Sep 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The American comedian and actor Russell Brand has been arrested yesterday after he attacked a photographer in the Los Angeles International Airport. The star was walking through the airport security with his fiance Katy Perry to catch the afternoon flight when a group of photographers were trying to take pictures of the star couple. The situation went out of control when the photographers blocked the way and the actor started quarreling and pushed the photographers.

The police released a statement where it was maintained that they responded to a battery involving a celebrity and a commercial photographer. The statement also read that the “victim” involved in the whole quarrel placed Russell Brand under private person’s arrest. The police said that they took Russell Brand into custody for Penal Code Section 242. The “Forgetting The Marshall” actor was taken to the nearby police station to be booked. The representative of the actor declined to comment to the media. However, Katy Perry, the fiancee of the actor took to the homepage of her social networking site where she supported Russell Brand and maintained that her fiancee was doing his job to protect her.

A reputed web portal posted a video of the incident where the star was seen pushing the group of photographers. However, later the actor was released from custody after posting $20,000 bail. Russell Brand is presently working on a remake of the 1982 comedy “Arthur” and the actor plays title role in the movie. The police reports that the actor was booked for LAPD division. Russell Brand and Katy Perry met at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009 and they got engaged on this January.
