Foreign investment in entertainment should be made easy -Juhi Chawla

The evergreen actress Juhi Chawla unveils the blue print to attract the investor in entertainment sector. Along with the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India’s (ASSOCHAM) official Mascot of the year 2009, “10 Gro’ -a Penguin, Juhi spreads the message to stop global warming, combat climate change, protect our environment, conserve water and save the earth.
On this occasion Juhi Chawla Mehta, who is also the Chairperson of ASSOCHAM national committee of films and television said, “Although the government has initiated the foreign investment into entertainment sector, but the clearing process is multi-tiered and cumbersome and does take inordinate amount of time. However, I want to appeal to the government to streamline and to prepare an outline for this sector and accelerate the clearing process.”
Proceeding further the new president of ASSOCHAM, Dr Swati Piramal said, “The entertainment and media industry is set for a quantum growth; new regulatory systems such as limited liability partnership is this sector will pave the way for global investment for growth in this sector. Convergence of media and telecom is also a big growth opportunity.”
This step of ASSOCHAM has really come as a breath of fresh air to the entertainment industry, which is also affected from the economic slowdown. At the same time, it will bring in new creative talent in the entertainment industry.
