Los Angeles, Feb 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The band Foo Fighters were honored with five Grammy Awards during the event last Sunday. The event was shadowed by the passing of singing sensation Whitney Houston.

The rock band dominated the genre when they picked most of the awards that they received nominations on. The band picked the honors including the Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Album, Best Rock Song and Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance. The group picked the honors with their highly successful album “Wasting Light.”

Receiving the award, the frontman of the band Dave Grohl told the audience at the event that, “This is a great honour because this record was a special record for our band. Rather than go to the best studio, we made this one in my garage with some microphones and a tape machine. It shows that the human element of making music is what’s most important.”

The night however belonged to British singer Adele. The singer has been out since October when she underwent throat surgery. She launched her comeback by performing at the Grammys where she received a standing ovation. Adele wrapped up the night by picking six Grammys including the Record of the Year and Album of the Year honors.
