Foo Fighters’ “Wasting Light” tops the charts

Los Angeles, April 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Foo Fighters song “Wasting Light” has seen some strong sales in its first week. The album climbed to the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart with the sale of about 235,000 units of the album.

You might not be aware but this is the first time that an album of the band has topped the charts in the United States. The album dislodged Adele’s album “21” from the top of the chart. The album’s sales dropped to 93,000 units this week.

Foo Fighters have seen some of their hit albums in the US Top ten chart previously. The highest performing album of the band before this album was “Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace” which was released in 2007. The album managed to reach number three on the charts.

Britney Spears’ “Femme Fatale” is still in the top ten list with 43,000 album sales. The album is currently at the sixth position. Chris Brown’s work “F.A.M.E.” had 35,000 in album sales and it is currently ninth on the US chart.

Alison Krauss and Union Station’s album “Paper Airplane” also opened strongly with 83,000 album sales ensuring that the album placed No. 3 on the chart.
