florence__the_machine_bNov 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Florence and the Machine was the musical act in the ‘SNL’ this week and the group proved yet again that they are here to stay. They performed their hit ‘Dog Days’ and ‘You’ve Got The Love’ and fans were reminded of their extraordinary performance at the VMAs this year. Unlike other bands, the musical group is known for their live performances which are as entertaining and melodious as their studio recordings and videos.

Apart from Florence and the Machine performing at the ‘SNL’ this week, Anne Hathaway also appeared on the show. With ‘Love and Other Drugs’ coming out soon, the ‘SNL’ episode proved to be the perfect opportunity for the gorgeous star to goof around a little and even promote her movie. The ‘Princess Diaries’ star was seen playing Kate Middleton in one of the skits and Andy Samberg played the role of Prince William. The rest of the royalty were seen putting up an act on front of Prince Williams and as soon as he left, they started to talk in the rowdy accent and began to torment Kate Middleton (played by Anne Hathaway).

The highlight of the evening, however, was the performance by Florence and the Machine. The group has been one of the most talked about in the last one year. Not only did they sizzle at the award shows but also gave some chart topping singles in the last two years that they have been in the industry. The group is led by the UK based singer Florence Welch. The group won the award for the ‘Best International Band’ at the Meteor Awards 2010.
