First Metal Music Awards To Be Held In India, This Sunday
June 19th, 2010 - 8:42 pm ICT by Sampurn WireJune 19, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): This Sunday will be added as another important day for the Indian musical history, as on this day, the country will hand over its first ever metal music awards at the Blue Frog in Mumbai.
The winners include popular bands like Demonic Resurrection, Inner Sanctum, Bhayanak Maut, Scribe, Infernal Wrath and upcoming bands Guillotine and Silver Tears. They are going to be the first trophy winners in this category of music in India.
Rolling Stone Magazine and Converse has sponsored the event, which will have live performances by Undying Inc, Scribe and Demonic Resurrection.
Pin Drop Violence bassist Rohit Pereira is going to host the event, which will be attended by numerous metal music lovers from all over the country.
A journalist named Tejus Mathur, who covers music, said that underground metal music should stay like that as the corporate production of it may go against the spirit of music. However, the musicians of metal music should get recognition, he added.
However, metal music has its own charm, you may dislike it but there are millions, who are diehard fans of this kind of music. So, there is no harm if the talents of this genre get their deserved honor.
