Fire on Harry Potter set

Harry Potter Star got Swine Flu March 22, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The set of the film Harry potter and the deathly hallows was destroyed by the fire last Friday. This happened when a special effects explosion went wrong during filming for a battle in the final scenes of the film. The crew was forced to flee as fire was uncontrollable for sometime.

Despite the efforts of six fire crews a set of Hogwarts castle was burned down, the damage is estimated to be about 100000 pounds. Watford fire brigade commander Tony Smith said: ‘There is a big battle scene involving a lot of pyrotechnics and explosions. There is a mocked-up castle made of timber, steel and plastic – somehow it caught alight.

The movie’s principal cast that includes Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson were not on set during the blaze at Leavesden film studios near Watford in Hertfordshire. However, around 100 film crew were present but none of them have suffered injuries

The ‘Battle of Hogwarts’ scenes involve Harry played by Daniel Radcliffe, raising an army of students to defend the school from an attack by evil wizard Voldemort in the film which is final installment of the Harry potter film franchise and will be released in two parts. The first part of the film is due for release later this year, while the second installment is set to hit the big screen in 2011.

Fans across the globe are hoping that this unfortunate accident does not delay the release of the film.
