Firangi hotties flood Bollywood B-Town has recently seen a flood of firangis making their way into films. Nothing seems to be stopping them then be it the language, the culture difference or the climatic conditions.
In-fact, firag face gives a film an edge over others films, considering the fact- Indians even today are crazy for firangi-divas. Someone who recently joined this bandwagon is Brazilian girl Giselle Monteiro who was kept under wraps by filmmaker Imtiaz Ali before the release of Love Aaj Kal. Giselle Monteiro started her modeling career at the age of seventeen. This pretty girl is just one film old with Love Aaj Kal, where she donned the character of old-fashioned Harleen Kaur with such perfection that she would give a run-for-money to any bolly-actresses today in Bollywood.
Let’s peep into the past and list down some fair-skinned-divas who have given some surprisingly amazing performances.
Alice Patten: Her amazing command over Hindi and knowledge about the freedom fighters took our Perfectionist Khan by surprise. Alice was zeroed on by Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra to play Sue. Alice belongs to Hong Kong and is the daughter of Chris Patten, former Conservative politician and Governor of Hong Kong. She has some English soap-operas to her credit where her performance has made everyone sit up and look. “Heroes and Villains’, “Where the Heart Is’, ” A Time to Dance’, “Not Waving But Drowning’, “Candida Oliver-Watts’, ” Love Hurts’, “Candida Oliver-Watts’ and last but not the least mini-series “The Forsyte Saga’.
Rachel Shelly: An ultra-ravishing Rachel Shelly too had a big career in television before she stepped into Bollywood with Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Lagaan- Once Upon A Time In India. Elizabeth Russell, the British princess falls in love with Bhuvan (Aamir Khan) who heads the team of Indians that got to win a cricket match again British to save a lagaan or tax. Rachel famous both in television and Hollywood, has done some amazing roles in films like Canone inverso- making love, Everybody Loves Sunshine- Clare, Royce, “Wycliffe: Dance of the Scorpions’ (TV), “The New Adventures of Robin Hood’ (TV).
Tania Zaetta: The sensational Baywatch and Pizza Porn star Tania Zaetta is an Australian who made her first special presence in Yash Raj’s Bunty Aur Babli. And there seems to be no end to her Bollywood career, because unlike other divas she continued her B-Town journey with yet another Yash Raj venture Salaam Namaste, where she was paired with Arshad Warsi and Deepak Shivdasani’s Mr. Black and Mr. White.
Shannon Esrechowitz: Beginning with I Dreamed of Africa, Shannon proved her actress prowess with award-winning performances in films like Dorothy Ann Gould’s production Japes and Hard Copy, which gave her an edge over others. This South African diva too came as a pleasant surprise for Indian cine-goers with amazing role of Stephanie- the dream girl of our “Chi Chi’ Govinda in Nikhil Advani’s Salaam-E-Ishq.
Rozza Catalano: And last but not the least, Italian model and ex-girl friend of Chote Nawab- Rozza Catalano. This model turned actress had come with an intention to make it big in Bollywood films. However, her break-off with Saif triggered her desire and eventually she was seen in a sizzling item number in Kamal Khan’s Desh Drohi. Rozza has couple of movies in her kitty like Ek Second… Jo Zindagi Badal De and Monopoly- The Game of Money, which are on a verge of release.
