Firaaq screening in Kochi
August 14th, 2009 - 5:21 pm ICT by Sampurn WireFiraaq, National award-winning actress Nandita Das’ directorial debut will be screened at the Sangeetha Theatre by the Kochi Metro Film Society on Sunday at 9.30 a.m. The film is about the disturbing violence on human relationships after the Gujarat riots of 2002.
The film released in India on March 20, 2009 and won top honors at many film festivals, namely, the Asian Festival of First Films 2008 in Singapore, the Dubai International Film Festival, the International Thessaloniki Film Festival in Greece and the International Film Festival of Kerala. The cast includes Deepti Naval, Naseeruddin Shah, Raghuvir Yadav, Tisca Chopra and Paresh Rawal.
