“Aife Kaife Kaife Kaife; Aife toh hona hi tha,’ yes, the business of Kaminey has not taken its cast and crew by surprise. The much anticipated success is sill ruling the roost with the top position on Box-Office in its second week. The biggest release ever remained unscathed by the last week’s releases Shadow and Sikandar. And with a flood of releases hitting the silver screen this week, one thing is for sure– the audience Love is going to be divided. But who has a potential to sway away the maximum audience attention is a big question mark. Let’s have a glimpse over this week’s releases:
Yeh Mera India: With the name of N Chandra of Tezaab fame associated with it, this film is definitely drawing attention. In fact, Yeh Mera India is considered to be a comeback vehicle of N Chandra. The very subject of dealing with the prevalent problems in society is creating curiosity among cine-goers. YMI however, lacks powerful star-cast, which might be the deciding factor for its fate, despite all the positive aspects mentioned above.
Toss: Prashant Raj- RGV’s discovery who stepped in the shoes of Big B in RGV’s remake of Sholay RGV ki Aag, is tossing his luck with Toss. Not et all a star cast to boast off, with very poor promotion- Toss seem to lose the toss big-time. The only saving grace is MTV VJ Rannvijay of MTV Roadies fame.
Quick Gun Murugun: The film comes with the conviction to tickle the funny bones of one and all. “I am Quickgun Murugun….Mind it’ has already made a place on the minds of many, thanks to its catchy punch line. It might be one of the major contenders to survive in the vast ocean of films releasing this week, including the big shark Kaminey. Rajendra Prasad as Quick Gun Murugun with some of the finest actors- Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey and Sandhya Mridul, may give this film a good word-of-mouth, if appreciated in the initial days.
Love Khichdi: is another film audience would love to watch. The concept of one cool dude luring seven hot babes on-screen is creating a lot of buzz. Love Khichdi will get its fair share of audience coming in the theatres, despite tremendous competition. And again good word-of-mouth can do wonders in case of this film.
Kisaan: A Sohail Khan production, this is the only film to feature the biggies of B-Town. The fan following of Jackie Dada, Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Dia Mirza all put together might collectively bail out Kisaan, despite its clichéd rural set-up. A lot will depend on the word-of-mouth publicity, which always works wonders for every film.
Daddy Cool: Daddy Cool’s music is creating waves all over. Although the title song is a legal rip-off of the hackneyed Boney M song, it has the potential to bring the audience to the doors of cinema halls. A fairly good star-cast and a film by Indra Kumar of Dil, Ishq, Masti and Dhamaal fame adds another reason for cine-goers to go and watch the film. The lovers of slapstick comedy will vouch for Daddy Cool. So, overall, the film might have a fair chance to recover its business.
