Filmmaker Baz Luhrmaan buys rights to The Great Gatsby

Washington, December 19 (ANI): Australian film director Baz Luhrmann has acquired the rights to make a film on American author F. Scott Fitzgerald’’s novel The Great Gatsby.
A script for the film has not been written as yet, say reports.
Luhrmann will begin working on the film after “Australia’’s” awards run, the reports add.
According to Variety magazine, no studio is presently attached with the project.
The Great Gatsby has already been adapted into a Broadway play and multiple films, including Jack Clayton’’s 1974 pic starring Robert Redford and scripted by Francis Ford Coppola. (ANI)
