Wellington, Dec 1 (ANI): Filming for the big screen adaptation of TV cartoon Yogi Bear, featuring the voices of singer Justin Timberlake and Ghostbusters star Dan Aykroyd, has started in New Zealand.

According to 3News, the flick is a CGI/live action hybrid being shot in 3D, with Aykroyd and Timberlake voicing the characters of Yogi and Booboo, reports stuff.co.nz.

Why do major blockbuster films rarely get actually filmed in america? I know that New Zealand is an amazing country, I have friends from NZ. However, there are some very majestic places in the states. The trailer for this Yogi Bear 2010 movie, seems to me exactly like the black hills of South Dakota…. Why not film it there, the cast and many of the animators are from the states. I went to film school, and I will be venturing into making more films in the coming year, and I will make sure to display the natural wonders of our country. Just a personal thing. :)
