I am so sorry to hear of Fess Parker’s death. I am thankful he did not have to suffer a long illness. I want to say thanks to his family for all the enjoyment I got from watching him on television. He was my Sunday night special on Walt Disney before heading to bed and school the next day in the 1950’s. I am also sorry I never got to meet him.

Fess Parker’s friendly portrayal of early US icons made history (albeit exagerated) accessible to children. His characters taught us an independent spirit and a sense of right and wrong.
    Thank You Mr. Parker.

It is indeed sad that the passing of such an American Icon has received so little notice in the news. Seems you must be an illiterate bimbo or a drug lord these days, to get any real recognition! This man positively influenced an entire generation of youngsters with the wholesome roles he portrayed and, as a businessman, his ethics were exemplory. His passing saddens his fans. God Rest you Fess.

I shall miss that special smile that Fess wore. I used to work with Fess at the University of Santa Barabra where he was a member of the Board of Regents. We have always stayed in contact over the years and my daughter Michelle was married at the winery in 2005. His humanitarian efforts shall always be remembered. I extend my regards to his family and the world is a better place due to people like Fess. God rest his kindness and soul. Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone shall lways be remembered.

  7. Lauren Brannen-Blackstock Says:

Correction: Fess and I worked at the University of Santa Clara not Santa Barbara.
