randy1 Santa Barbara, Apr 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Felony charges against actor Randy Quaid were dropped on Wednesday, in the non-payment of the hotel bills case. However his wife Evi wasn’t as lucky as him, because she pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor count of defrauding a hotel, over non-payment of the hotel bills. So now she would be on probation for three years. And on top of that she would also have to do around 240 hours of community service.

Both Randy and Evi Quaid are quite pleased that the matter has been solved at last, according to their lawyer Robert Sanger. “This is a very fair resolution of the matter. The Quaids are pleased with the disposition,” according to the attorney Robert Sanger. It also ought to be mentioned that just a few days earlier, warrants had been issued for the couple, as they had not made an appearance in the court.

It may be recalled that in December 2009, actor Randy Quaid and his wife Evi were arrested in connection with the non-payment of hotel bills case. The case is that the Quaids were accused of not paying a bill at the Santa Barbara hotel, in which they stayed in 2008. The hotel bill was to the tune of $10,000, which the Quaids refused to pay. They were released on a bail of $40,000 in December 2009.
