Film: “Raaz - The Mystery Continues”; Music Directors: Raju Singh, Gourov Dasgupta, Pranay M. Rijia, Sharib-Toshi; Lyricists: Sayeed Quadri, Kumar; Singers: K.K., Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam, Krishna, Toshi Sabri; Rating: ***”Raaz - The Mystery Continues” is a film by Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt and the music of their movies is always a hit, though they don’t experiment too much. But the compositions of this film are different from other productions of the Bhatt camp.

“Bandaa re” is a slow and serene Sufi number rendered by Krishna. Gourov Dasgupta, who has composed it, has used appropriate musical arrangements to bring the devotional flavour. Lyricist Sayeed Quadri has done a fine job.

Title track “Kaisa yeh raaz hai” is a slow number that begins on a haunting note. It is a well-composed piece, but won’t be a chartbuster. The lyrics by Sayeed and the rendition by K.K. too stand out.

Sayeed again pens the words for “Maahi”, which has been sung by Toshi Sabri, who was a participant on reality show “Voice of India”. Toshi infuses freshness into the song. It won’t become popular instantly, but would certainly find a fan following in the long run.

After a couple of slow numbers, “O Jaana” steps up the pace. A. Raju Singh has composed this romantic piece that again has commendable lyrics by Sayeed. K.K’s rendition is not breathtaking, but the music is impressive.

“Soniyo” is the best number of the album. Sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal, the pleasant track moves at a very steady pace. Kumar keeps the lyrics as simple as the composition and it gives the singers ample space.

Comprising of mainly melodic, slow paced tracks, the frontrunners of this album are two fast numbers. Both “O Jaana” and “Soniyo” are the highlights of the pack.
