July 18th, 2009 - 12:37 am ICT by IANSLondon, July 17 (IANS) American actress Farrah Fawcett has been posthumously handed an Emmy nomination for her role as executive producer of her documentary “Farrah’s Story”.
The late actress received the nod for an account of her battle against cancer, aired shortly before she died last month, reports contactmusic.com.
The “Charlie’s Angels” actress was previously nominated for Emmys three times during her career, but never won.
Farrah’s long-term partner Ryan O’Neal said Thursday as the awards were announced: “I know that she is smiling that fabulous smile right now in heaven, and that she is grateful the show has been so well received not only by her peers in the industry but by the public at large.”
The 61st Emmy Awards will be hosted by “How I Met Your Mother” actor Neil Patrick Harris.
