capricaNov 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The SyFy network announced earlier this week that the Battlestar Galactica spinoff ‘Caprica’ will not see the light of the next season. The cancellation of the show has caused a reaction from several fans of the series who have taken things into their own hands and approached the SyFy network directly. One fan is planning to drop large orders of apples at the SyFy executive offices on November 15 which was the scheduled finale date for the first season. The fan explained that the purpose was to send a message to the network that there was a certain fan base of the show that cannot be ignored.

The fan wrote in her blog that ‘Caprica’ was canceled before it hit its stride. Though there are very little chances of the SyFy network changing its decision now, the fan is convinced about the shows success in the long run. She explained that the show would have made a lot of money for the network if it would have stuck with it.

Some of the other fans of the show who took to the web after the announcement by SyFy, said that the main reason for the show’s failure to get the ratings is the way the show was rolled out by the network. Some of the experts feel that in spite of the critical praise that the show received, its chances of success were quite limited in comparison to ‘Warehouse 13′ and ‘Eureka’ because of its serialized structure. They felt that in the other shows the audience could immediately find interest in spite of not being aware of the background story.
