gijoeThis is a visual treat for all those die-hard G.I. Joe fans who have always wanted to see their favorite animated characters splashed on the big screen. “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” in no way disappoints the lot, it had promised to be a screen extravaganza and it has been proved to be so. Not that the sneak peaks hadn’t looked impressive enough; they had set the stage perfectly for the kill.

The movie is an all out action flick and it is, by all standards, sleek in its execution. In fact, it has been touted to be one of the most sought after action flicks of this summer, ranking surprisingly higher than “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” “Terminator Salvation” and “X- Men Origins: Wolverine.”

Every kid’s favorite army-man buddies, the toy line of the G.I. Joe was turned in to a comic book series and animated show in the 1980s, when the world of every young boy was swept up by the tide of the figurines. So, the fan fare surrounding the movie would be a much hyped affair, there was never a doubt.

The film is every bit as extravagant and fast paced as it is sleek. The action sequences don’t look like they are straight out of a video game and the racy plot does enough to keep the audience on their toe throughout.

The cast of the movie includes names like Channing Tatum (Duke), Marlon Wayans (Rip Cord), Sienna Miller (The Baroness), Dennis Quaid (General Hawk) and a host of others. The movie is certainly a plot driven one than being a character driven one, as is marked by the presence of the ensemble cast.
