April 3, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):Fans of Dr. Rajakumar, the icon of Kannada cinema, made a silver statue of the actor and brought it to the Doddaganapathi Temple at Bangalore on Thursday morning, when Dr. Rajakumar’s son, Shivarajakumar’s film Mylari had its launch.
The statue, which weighs 6.350 kilograms, costs around Rs. 3 lakhs. The statue will be taken on a procession in Tumkur on April 24, the birth anniversary of Dr. Rajakumar, and will be placed in the Tumkur Jilla Shatha Shrungaraja Raj Abhimani Sangha.
Shivarajakumar got a little emotional as he held the statue. Sculptor Nakod Kamalesh carved the statue in three months.
