London, July 17 (ANI): Late King of Pop Michael Jackson’s family has kept his body frozen while they wait for the police to investigate if the superstar’s death was a murder or manslaughter probe, it has emerged.
The ‘Thriller’ hit-maker’s body is being preserved in a refrigerated crypt in Hollywood even three weeks after his death.
The star’s family are delaying plans for his burial or cremation because they are hoping that Los Angeles Police Department detectives would soon confirm they are conducting a criminal investigation into his death on June 25.
The toxicology reports on the star are expected back within days.
However, investigators believe that Jackson died after receiving the surgical sedative Propofol, also known as Diprivan, which should only be administered in hospitals.
And now the police are looking at a number of doctors who prescribed drugs to the superstar, including his personal doctor Conrad Murray, who unsuccessfully tried to revive the stricken star.
Murray has neither confirmed nor denied administering Propofol.
Police has interviewed him and his lawyers have said that he is co-operating.
Police are investigating how the singer might have been able to get hold of prescription drugs.
“Are we dealing with a homicide? Are we dealing with an accidental overdose? Based on those tests, we will have an idea what we are dealing with,” The Daily Express quoted LA police chief William Bratton as saying of the toxicology reports.
Michael’s sister La Toya has said that she regards her brother’s death as murder.
His father Joe has said he also suspects foul play. (ANI)
