Fake currency seized, three held in Punjab
October 29th, 2010 - 7:14 pm ICT by IANSPatiala, Oct 29 (IANS) Three people were arrested in Punjab Friday and fake currency was recovered from their possession, an official said here.
Fake currency notes of face value Rs.532,000 were recovered, the police official said.
Following a tip-off that some people were printing fake currency, the police raided a house in Bahadurgarh area near here and also recovered the equipment used by them for printing the fake notes.
“Investigations are in progress. We are trying to ascertain for how long these people were indulging in this illegal activity,” the official said.
