Extreme Home Makeover Rebuilds in Clarksville.
Dec 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Scott family is faced with challenges when David the father died while on duty as a police officer in Clarksville, Tennessee in 2002. The design team went through the house they were living in and saw the major damage that had been done by termites. The three daughters each discussed their likes such as; beaches, movie stars and dance.
Trina Scott upon the death of her husband organized a companion help line/group to offer support to families whose husband’s or wife’s killed in the line of duty.
Members from the community all came together before the Scott family headed to Disney Land in California for a 7 day vacation. Gathered in the front yard they expressed their love and support to Trina for being a shoulder and now it was their turn as a community to help her.
Grammy winning recording artist Usher arrived by bus to help start the construction of the new home. The home was demolished and the rebuild was underway. Paige started shopping at Sears for the bedroom furnishing for each of the girls. With the house built and furniture ready to be moved in Usher announced to everyone to carry in the furniture.
The Scott family arrived home a day early to see the unveiling of a memorial mural painted on the police station in Clarksville. The next morning they off to see the new home that was built for them. When the bus was moved a beautiful two story home was standing, where once stood a rotting one story ranch home.
Daughter Alethea’s (11years) room was designed with a beach theme with sea shells and sand. Deide’s (age 13) had a room made for a dancer. Hardwood floors and mirrored walls had Usher dancing along side her. Leyla’s (17 years old) room was a that of a movie stars dream.
A beautiful home for a fresh start to welcome home the Scott Family.
