Extortionists Sentenced To Four Years Of Imprisonment For Threatening John StamosOctober 9th, 2010 - 4:18 pm ICT by Pen Men At Work
October 9, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): A man and woman based in Michigan were sentenced to four years of prison each on Friday. They had been convicted of trying to extort $680,000 from John Stamos, the actor.
The accused duo, Allison Coss and Scott Sippola had met the actor in Orlondo after he had split with Rebecca Romijn. They had been facing up to nine years of imprisonment but hoped that it could be limited to two.
The defendants had tried to confuse the jury with lies. The jury had also been incited by their concocted stories. A statement by Stamos was read out at the sentencing which the actor did not attend. His statement disclosed that he had been forced to stand by and watch Coss slander him while the press gleefully reported every bit of her allegations which were based on falsehoods.
Coss, who had been 17 years old when she met Stamos threatened to expose the actor by making public some pictures which showed the actor partying with strippers and using drugs. The FBI revealed later that no such picture had ever existed. Stamos had, in fact, contacted the Federal agents in November 2009 and they set up a sting action which did not augur well for the Michigan couple.
Allison Coss was seen crying during the sentencing at the court and did not even address the judge once. Her companion, Sippola had apologized in front of the court a week earlier saying that he had tried to exploit the his knowledge about the personal weaknesses of the actor, that too for his own financial gains which were undeserved. He also said that he would have been enraged and hurt if the same had happened to him instead of Stamos.
Both of them were taken to the prison house after being tied at the ankles and wrists.
