Exhibition Of Ball Gowns Of America’s First Ladies

The First Lady is always the cynosure of attention at inauguration balls. And the thing that makes these First Ladies look more radiant and confident is their unforgettable gowns. The ball gowns are nothing less than pieces of art. The precision with which they are made are unparallel.
After having made a strong and individualistic style statement of her own, the fashionable Michelle Obama has increased our expectations for every special evening. Right before the inauguration ball, she had left us all guessing who she would wear for that special evening. She finally zeroed in on a young designer from Taiwan named Jason Wu. She dazzled in a white chiffon dress studded with Swarovski crystals on January 20, 2009, the day her husband was sworn in as president.
For all those who want to have a second look and be inspired from it, a Washington museum is the place to go. This gown is the latest addition to the collection of ball gowns of the First Ladies. The National Museum of American History, Washington, has collected all the spectacular ball gowns worn by the First ladies. These unique gowns are up for display as a part of an exhibition. According to the museum’s spokesperson, Laura Duff, this exhibition is one of their “most popular” exhibitions and needless to say, is flooded with visitors. This museum is one of the most important tourist spots in the capital city. It witnesses millions of footfall during the year.
This exhibition marks the marriage of politics and fashion and you can expect to see nothing but the costliest of ball gowns ever made.
