Ex-Playmate gets 9 years for shooting at her husband
September 8th, 2011 - 6:56 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, Sept 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A 66-year-old former Playboy Playmate of the Year has been handed 9 years behind bars for shooting and wounding her husband. Victoria Rathgeb reportedly shot her husband at the back in the couple’s apartment in Hollywood.
She was charged with voluntary manslaughter and during the trial, she pleaded no contest. The husband was at the courthouse on Wednesday as Rathgeb was handed the sentence. He appeared emotionless and did not give any statement at the end of the session.
Prosecutors stated that the incident happened last October when an argument ensued between the couple. The husband was injured in the incident and he has since been treated.
Rathgeb was a household name in the 60s. She was named the Playmate of the Year at the Playboy mansion in 1968. She was in the mansion with the alias Angela Dorian. She was also a regular on the television screens in the 60s and 70s playing several roles. Her biggest project was in the 1968 hit horror movie “Rosemary’s Baby.” She played the role a character who was recovering from heroin addiction.
Rathgeb was handed the sentence on Wednesday at a courthouse in Los Angeles after she had been convicted on her own plea.
