Ex NBA star Dennis Rodman pleads no contest to spousal batteryJune 25th, 2008 - 6:23 pm ICT by ANI
New York, June 25 (ANI): Former NBA star Dennis Rodman pleaded no contest to misdemeanour charges of spousal battery in Los Angeles.
His agent, Darren Prince, said that the 47-year-old avoided jail time, but has been sentenced to three years probation, 45 days of community service and one year of anger management and domestic violence classes.
“Dennis is happy he can put this misdemeanour charge behind him and get on with his life and career,” the New York Daily News quoted Prince, as saying.
Police arrested Rodman in April after he had a late-night fight with his girlfriend following a night of drinking.
This is not the first time Rodmans poor behaviour has landed him in trouble.
Rodman had an out of court settlement with a Las Vegas craps dealer in 2001 after reportedly rubbing dice on the dealer’s head, chest, stomach and genitals.
After three years, he pleaded no contest to a DUI charge. In 2006, he was accused of assaulting a Las Vegas club manager.
Known for his foul-mouth and aggressive behaviour, Rodman memorably head-butted a referee in 1996 and was suspended for several games in 1997 after kicking a cameraman in the groin. (ANI)
