February 16, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Former Miss India Earth 2006 Amruta Patki will be soon seen in Moser Baer Entertainment and Idiot Box’s forthcoming film “Hide and Seek’. The film is releasing on 12th March and is the maiden venture of Apoorva Lakhia and is co- produced by Lakshmi Singh.
“Hide and Seek’ is the directorial debut of Shawn Arranha and has a huge star-cast including Amruta Patki, Purab Kohli, Arjan Bajwa, Ayaz Khan, Mrinalini Sharma and Sameer Kochhar.
Amruta Patki took the modeling world by storm and made her presence felt on ramp and advertising campaigns. She will now be seen playing the role of a rich brat in “Hide and Seek’. We met up with the Marathi mulgi and quizzed her on her experience in “Hide and Seek’…
How did you bag this role?
Apoorva Lakhia was auditioning a dozen new girls for this film and I got lucky.
So what character are you playing in the film?
I’m playing the character of Gunita who belongs to a filthy rich family, which eventually makes her a snob (Laughs). Nothing else matters to this girl until, of course she falls in love with Om Jaiswal (Purab Kohli). This makes an interesting love triangle with me, Purab Kohli and Mrinalini Sharma who is playing Jyotika and Om’s love interest. So along with this love triangle, “Hide and Seek’ is a suspense flick which is based on six best friends whose terrible past catches up with them due to a fun game they played as kids on a Christmas night.
Is it true that you fainted during the shoot of “Hide and Seek’? How did that happen?
Well I’ll tell you something, acting in film is not a cakewalk! We were shooting in Ahmadabad for “Hide and Seek’ and the temperature touched a 50 degree Celsius so the heat caught onto me and I fainted.
So how was the experience of working in a film for the first time?
As I said it was not a cakewalk but it wasn’t that bad either because in every field, one has to struggle in some way or the other. Anyway I love watching suspense films and I’m more than glad to be a part of one.
What kind of films do you want to do in future?
As a debutant, I’ve no limitations on what genres of films I would like to do as this is a learning phase. I want to grow as an actress instead of being a celebrity and do all kinds of films like comedy, romance, serious etc.
Tell us about your experience with the cast and crew of “Hide and Seek’?
I got a lot of support from both Apoorva Lakhia and Shawn and the rest six of us had a lot of fun during shoots. It will be a memorable experience forever.
What do you do in your free time?
I like listening to good music and reading books.
