Ex-Menudo member Robi Draco Rosa diagnosed with cancer

Los Angeles, April 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A former member of the Latin boy band Menudo, Robi Draco Rosa, has been diagnosed with cancer. The announcement was contained in a statement that was released by the manager of Rosa.

The statement said doctors detected a cancerous tumor near the liver of the singer. According to the statement, Rosa is currently undergoing treatment at a clinic in Houston.

The 41-year-old was a member of Menudo until 1987 when he left the band. He joined the band in 1984 and after leaving the band he worked for Ricky Martin. He was very influential in the writing and production of “Livin’ la Vida Loca” and “She Bangs.”

He also had some stint with motion pictures. He was part of the cast of the movie “Salsa: The Motion Picture” which was filmed in 1988. The movie proved to be a huge success in Rosa’s native Puerto Rico. The movie which is still popular has grossed about $8,892,589.

Rosa released his last album in 2009. The album, “Amor Vincit Omnia,” received nomination for the Best Latin Rock. During the 53rd Grammy Award, the album again picked nomination for “Alternative Or Urban Album.”
