According to reports, 25 year old Alexis Cohen, who is a former two time “American Idol” contestant has died. She had reportedly appeared for the auditions of both 2008 and 2009 seasons of “American Idol.” The reason of the death is said to be the result of an accident that she had encountered when she had been struck down by a car in the shore town of Seaside Heights in New Jersey. Cohen was found lying unconscious on the street at around 4 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, July 25.

Deputy Chief Michael Mohel of the Ocean County Prosecutors Office said that the autopsy reports indicated that Cohen had been inflicted with injuries on her chest, head and abdomen, most certainly acquired from the collision. The police are investigating thoroughly so as to seek more information about the accident and have initiated a deep probe in to the matter in order to catch the culprit.

Mohel says that Cohen had been found lying unconscious on the DuPont Avenue. Says Mohel, “Individuals had passed by and saw her lying on the side at DuPont Avenue.” All efforts to to revive had been implemented but had been unsuccessful sadly. She had been rushed to the Community Medical Center in Toms River (N.J) and it was there that she had been pronounced dead, at about 6:35 a.m.

Her auditioning in the 2008 “American Idol” had fetched her a lot of media attention because of the circumstance under which she had come in to the limelight. Upon being rejected by the judge’s in the Fox’s talent hunt show, Cohen had got about to abusing them, mostly Simon Cowell. It was mostly for this that she had been drawn in to the arch light.
