Eve teaser slapped by Pratigya

August 22, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): STAR PLUS’s Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya is a show that throws light on the grave issue of eve-teasing. Pratigya, the protagonist of this show, had been a victim of eve-teasing on and she fights back against the whole ordeal. She doesn’t stoop low and take it like a worm; she makes those losers repent.
She is this hardcore in real life as well and stands against the miscreants. Pratigya recently slapped a guy today morning on her way back, after wrapping up a shoot. She did so, as the guy had passed lewd comments about her.
She was having some vada pav and the place was crowded with college students from the nearby college. Most of them could recognize her and applauded her role and acting skills. They recognized me and started discussing the show and my character. However everything wasn’t peachy and fine. There were however some guys, standing at a distance who had passed several lewd and filthy remarks at her. She said that they called her an “item girl in real life’ and this pissed her off to the core.
She simply went up to them and slapped one really hard across his filthy face.
