Aug 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The singer known as Marilyn Manson, and ‘True Blood’ actress Evan Rachel Wood have called off the engagement which began in January when forty one year old Manson asked the twenty two year old Wood to marry him during a stage performance in Paris.

The couple have had what is often called an “on again, off again relationship” since 2006 when they began dating. They split up for a while in 2008, when Wood dated Shane West for a brief time, and then got back together. They split up again in November of 2008, and Wood released the statement;

“Manson and I both decided to take some time apart so we could concentrate on work. Someone used that opportunity to kick us while we were down and sell a completely false story.” She was referring to the rumors that they had broken up over Wood’s brother, Ira, who was living with them at the time. Mason was said to have kicked him out of the guest house.

But Woods claimed this was ludicrous. “Manson owns the house he lives in. My brother has never stayed there and the person that said such horrible things about Manson being ‘controlling’ and ‘emotionally abusive’ is certainly no source ‘close’ to me,” Woods says. “Manson has been by my side and taken care of me through the best and worst times. I love him as a person and as an artist. I will always be proud to have been a part of that.”

After that break up, they became engaged in January, and have once again called it quits. Wood has not commented yet on this particular break up.
