Eva Mendes to relive Callas on-screen
May 21st, 2011 - 3:19 pm ICT by IANSLondon, May 21 (IANS) Actress Eva Mendes has given the nod to playing the lead role in famous opera singer Maria Callas’s biopic.
‘The Hitch’ star will play the role of the soprano singer in ‘Greek Fire’, portraying the boisterous love life of Callas with Aristotle Onassis, Dailystar reported.
The script is based on a book on the singer and has been penned by Julian Fellowes.
“Julian Fellowes wrote a script for me based on the relationship between Maria Callas and Aristotle Onassis, and as Julian Fellowes wrote it for me I couldn’t say no to it,” the 37-year-old star said.
