New York, Nov. 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A billboard that has been put up in the SoHo area of New York has stirred up quite an amount of controversy. The content of the billboard is being considered too racy even by New York standards, and the residents are demanding that it be pulled down immediately. The wave of protests that have surrounded the Calvin Klein advertisement featuring actress Eva Mendes and a male model, who is being mistaken by many to be David Beckham on account of his likeness to the football player, is reminiscent of another equally controversial advertisement Eva Mendes starred in a few years back.

The actress and the man are seen in the advertisement in their underwear, their bodies shining with sweat, with Eva pulling at his briefs. The suggestiveness of the advertisement is creating disgruntled ripples among the residents of the city. The billboard has been put up in the Houston and Lafayette Streets in SoHo, New York. They seem to be drawing mixed reviews, based on the age and attitude of the one viewing them. While some think that they are “sexy as hell”, others staunchly believe that they border on the pornography.

On the other hand, all this hullabaloo about the Calvin Klein advertisements seem to be somewhat unnecessary. After all, they have been known to make ads that are risque and at times downright raunchy. Their last campaign that also featured Eva Mendes, who has been the face of the company for quite some time now, was banned from television as the content was considered to be obscene.
