Eva Longoria raises $568,440 in Twitter auction
September 29th, 2010 - 2:18 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Sep 29 (IANS) Actress Eva Longoria Parker has raised $568,440 in a celebrity Twitter auction for disabled children in Haiti.
Parker spearheaded the auction on the social networking site. The 35-year-old offered to follow fans on Twitter and arrange one-of-a-kind meetings for the winning bidders who donated money throughout last week.
The funds raised from the auction event will go to www.ahomeinhaiti.org and will be used to rebuild The Miriam Center, which cares for children suffering from autism and cerebral palsy.
