Los Angeles, Feb 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Obama campaign team has rewarded actress Eva Longoria and others for their unwavering support for the President. In all, 35 co-chairs for the President’s re-election bid were named by the campaign team.

Longoria and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa are among the 35 personalities throughout the United States to be honored that way. The campaign team made the announcement on Wednesday.

Some of the other co-stars on the list includes former White House Chief of Staff and current Mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel and former White House staffer Kalpen Modi.

The role of the co-chairs will be to advise the campaign team on how to handle specific issues and have the greatest impact. Longoria recently served in a similar capacity when she was brought on a Latino celebrity panel to advise the President on the Latino Community.

President Obama needs all the help he can get as he seeks to get reelected for the second term. Analysts say due to the challenging nature of the economy that the President faced, he is expected to have a difficult time come November when the polls open in the United States.

The Republicans are currently involved in the process to elect a flagbearer to face the President in the elections.
