The episode that was titled “Beautifully Broken” was directed by twice Emmy Award winner Scott Winant and penned down by Raelle Tucker. The episode focused on the plans of Russel Edgington the Vampire king of Mississippi who now plans to expand his power and kingdom. It also focused on the parallel action of Sam, Eric and Tara who it seemed will play an important role in the coming episode of the “True Blood” Season 3.

The beginning of the episode reveals that it was the Vampire king Russel Edgington who had sent the crew who abducted Bill last week. Now in the mansion of the king, Russel Edgington says that he said his people to “escort” his guest to his mansion and shoots Cooter for sucking on his guest Bill.

It is during the bloody meal that Bill comes to know that Russel Edgington wants to expand his territory and plans to marry Sophie-Anne. Denied by the Queen of Louisiana the king tire to get some secrets from Bill that can be used to force the Queen to comply with the plan of the king.

If this is one part of the Sunday night episode then the other part shows Sam is able to trace his biological mother and his family relationships. Eric remembers his past life and Tara is shown to have found an ally in Franklin Mott.
