Los Angeles, Aug 14 (IANS/EFE) Spanish pop star Enrique Iglesias retook Billboard’s No. 1 spot for most dance chart hits by a male solo artist with the success of his latest single “Dirty Dancer”.
That track - sixth single from his album “Euphoria” - is the ninth by the Spanish heartthrob to top the Dance/Club Play Songs chart and puts him back on the top ahead of late pop icon Michael Jackson.
Iglesias’ other No. 1 Billboard dance hits dating back to 1999 are “Bailamos”, “Be With You”, “Hero”, “Escape”, “Not In Love”, “Away”, “I Like It” and “Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You)”.
Prince ranks behind Iglesias and Jackson with the third-most No. 1 dance singles among the men, although all of them are far behind Madonna, who has racked up 40 No. 1 dance hits, and Janet Jackson, Michael’s sister, with 19.
