English Words Becoming Integral Part Of Many Bollywood Songs

Bollywood songs have always experimented with various styles and use of English words in Hindi songs has started years back. However, it has increased these days and almost every film releasing these days have songs with few English lyrics in it.
The use of English words has increased with the trend of making remixes. Most of the remixes of Hindi songs try to insert some English words. Even item numbers with English words in it turns popular faster than the other songs. For example, we have the latest craze ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ from the recently released movie Tees Maar Khan. It starts with the line ‘I know you want it but you never gonna get it’. Even the youngsters love the way the song starts with these English words. We don’t need to explain how popular the song has become across the country.
It seems that the youngsters love the English insertion in Hindi songs and the filmmakers and lyricists have been able to sense this liking. How can we forget the popular title number from the movie Dhoom, which was a hit among all pubs and parties? ‘Zara Zara Touch Me’ from the movie Race is yet another popular example of English word usage in Hindi songs.
It is demand of the present generation so lyricists are providing it. We cannot complaint much about it as these songs have always rocked the dance floor!
