Emma Watson Feels Sick Of Her ‘Harry Potter’ Fortune

November 4, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): As the fans and aficionada are gearing for the release of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1,’ which is only a few days away, Emma Watson, aka Hermione of the ’Harry Potter´ franchise, appears on the cover page of the December issue of British Vogue.
While talking to ‘Vogue’ about her riches, Emma confessed that she was 17 or 18 years old – almost after a decade since she first hit it big in the first of the ‘Harry Potter’ series, ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,’ –when her father had the “money conversation,” as she puts, for the first time with her. She was completely unaware of her fortunes that she made off working as Hermione, until then. Emma was happy living on a weekly allowance of $75. Her dad let her in on the fact that she was worth much more than that though! Watson said: ”By the third or fourth film, the money was starting to get serious.” She further admitted: “I had no idea. I felt sick, very emotional.”
And guess, how much money do you think Emma Watson’s parents were talking about? Well, the 20-year-old actress is worth $32 million, for sure. The number also makes her the highest paid female in Hollywood!
To the credit of her parents though, Emma concedes that had she known about ‘the moneys,’ she might have blew it off by now!
Now that her contract with the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise has ended, the first thing Emma did was to chop her hair off – a thing she was forbidden for almost a decade, since age 9, when she became J. K. Rowling’s Hermione in the first of the series.
Emma Watson is currently enrolled as a sophomore at Brown University in Rhode Island, pursuing a degree in art and literature.
Apart from being a Burberry face, this fashionista also has her own clothing line with People Tree.
Despite the end of ‘Harry Potter’ franchise, and her hesitance to pursue an acting career any further, Emma will continue to appear on the big silver screen. She will be seen in Michelle Williams’ upcoming flick, ‘My Week with Marilyn.’
