Los Angeles, Aug 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Emma Thompson has slammed Audrey Hepburn no end and insulted the actress a lot, when she said that Audrey can’t sing and neither can she act.

So Emma wants that Audrey ought to be replaced in the remake of the legendary movie ‘My Fair Lady’ as she feels that Audrey lacks a lot in the acting and in the singing departments. Emma Thompson is at the moment involved in writing the screenplay of the upcoming remake of the 1964 hit musical movie – ‘My Fair Lady’.

And in keeping with the times, she intends to give her screenplay a feminist twist. Emma also adds that the basic intention of the feminist makeover is to ensure that the role of ‘Eliza Doolittle’ is strong and not lame as was portrayed by Audrey in the original movie.

Emma said in a very candid fashion that, “I was thrilled to be asked to do it because, having a look at it, I thought that there needs to be a new version. I’m not hugely fond of the film. I find Audrey Hepburn fantastically twee.” She also divulged that Audrey performed the role without any ‘kind of bite’ and in an overly sweet fashion.
