Eminem to host rap contest
August 20th, 2010 - 12:35 am ICT by IANSLondon, Aug 19 (IANS) American rapper Eminem is set to return to his hometown of Detroit, Michigan, to host a rap contest in the style of the famous hip-hop battle in his semi-autobiographical movie “8 Mile”.
The “Superman” hitmaker has signed up to host a freestyle rap contest called the “Red Bull EmSee: The Road to 8 Mile National Finals”, which will see eight aspiring stars compete against each other in scenes similar to the hit 2002 film, reports thetimesherald.com.
The finalists, who have been picked from regional heats across the US, will perform in front of the superstar, who will then decide the winner.
The event wil be held at Detroit’s St. Andrews Hall Aug 26.
