Eminem feels compassion for estranged dying mum
May 5th, 2009 - 2:03 pm ICT by ANIWashington, May 5 (ANI): Eminem has revealed that he feels compassion for his dying mother Debbie Mathers with whom he has had a decade-long feud.
The rapper revealed he understood her plight while she fought drug addiction after having had a similar experience.
The 36-year-old, who has been trying to kick his drug abuse that landed him with 20 painkillers a day and almost overdose on methadone, said he now knew what it meant to be in her shoes.
“It never once hit me that drug addiction runs in my family,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying in an interview with Vibe magazine.
“Now I understand that I’m an addict, I definitely have compassion for my mother. I get it,” he added.
Debbie had been reported to seriously ill after undergoing heart surgery, and had expressed her wish to reconcile with her son. (ANI)
