June 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Much acclaimed American rapper Eminem who has come under fire many times before for his controversial and derogatory comments about gay community in the past, now changed his view and supports gay marriage. His offensive lyrics for gay communities in many songs in the past raised eyebrows and the rapper came under fire from LGBT groups for his anti-gay lyrics, last year he was in a controversy for using anti-gay term for gay singers Clay Aiken, Lance Bass and Adam Lambert in his song “Elevator.” Now the singer has offered his full support for the same-sex marriage.
The Grammy Award winner in his recent interview to a famous media outlet said that there should not be any issues if “two people love each other’ while adding that “everyone should have the chance to be equally miserable”, given the two people who are in love want it. The singer seems to have his well publicized “recovery” as he claims himself to be more “mature” than before. Eminem’s this statement during the interview highlights that the musical artist is more mature than it used to be as he also admits he has clam down a little bit from earlier.
Eminem’s seventh album “Recovery” will hit the stores on June 21. The singer who has been accused for being homophobic and spreading hatred through his derogatory comments for gays for years, suddenly turns out to be more patient and tolerant in supporting the gay rights. To quote the singer, “It’s the new tolerant me!’. Eminem is currently doing publicity for his upcoming album “Recovery” and he says that his new found maturity had a lot to do with getting sober for his upcoming album and his “Slim Shady” image was not right for his “Recovery” album.
