Aug 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) 30 year old Emily Henderson has been announced as the winner of the reality series ‘Design Star’ that airs on HGTV. Emily Henderson and Micheal Moeller were the finalists in the finale of the competition that was aired on Sunday, August 22. The challenge for the contestants was that they will have to create a design from a perspective provided by the clients. They were also asked to tape a segment that will follow the segment from the beginning to the end.

The finale of HGTV’s Design Star was made even more interesting as the earlier contestants were brought back to assist the finalists for the final challenge. Another interesting twist was that the contestants were allowed to chose their on client from among their own teammates. Emily Henderson first picks Dan as her client and quickly realizes that her tastes are too similar to his. She then decides to pick Tom, a move that she calls ‘dangerous’. Michael Moeller on the other hand, appears as if he has bitten more than he can chew by choosing Nina. He describes her as a lioness who eats her own cubs. She tries to impose herself on him throughout, but he finally manages to stick to his own ideas at the end.

Finally the segments by the designers come out to be neat. Emily Henderson’s ‘Style To Lifestyle’ presents her ideas clearly and the only drawback seems to be her explanations of the design. For Michael Moeller, it is the title ‘Style Revolution’ that puts off the people but the segment appears strong and humorous. Finally, Emily Henderson is adjudged the winner and the promo for her own upcoming show is also shown to the audience.
