London, December 21 (ANI): French fashion label Emanuel Ungaro’s top boss Mounir Moufarrige, who has resigned from his job, has clarified that the step has nothing to do with Lindsay Lohan’s role in the firm as creative consultant.
The former company President had recruited the actress, but is now himself “withdrawing” after the line designed by her got hugely criticized in September.
Chairman Asim Abdullah had pressed on Moufarrige to cancel Lohan’s contract, but Ungaro bosses had decided to keep her onboard.
“It’s my decision. It’s not a total departure, except for operational duties. (The resignation) has nothing to do with Lindsay Lohan at all,” the Daily Express quoted Moufarrige as telling WWD.com.
He added: “The strategy is set for Ungaro and that’s it.” (ANI)
