elvis The estate of the late King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley has confirmed the signing of a deal with Hasbro Inc. as well as PPW Toys to manufacture and sell an all new “Elvis Mr. Potato Head” which will be released during Elvis Tribute Week in August.

The Elvis Presley version of Mr. Potato Head which is due to be out next month will be wearing a white jumpsuit, wearing shades and holding a guitar. A second Elvis Presley Mr. Potato Head toy which will be dressed in black leather similar to the outfit which Elvis wore in his 1968 Comeback Special, is due out in time for Christmas. Both versions are to be sold for $20 each.

The spokesman for Graceland, which is the name of the Elvis Presley estate said that the Elvis Presley Mr. Potato Head toy is one of the 15,000 plus products which are licensed by the Elvis Presley Estate.

The makers of ‘Mr. Potato Head’ are hoping that the sale of these Elvis toys will increase the adult interest in the market of their products. Since the movie ‘Toy Story’ hit the box office, sales of Mr. Potato Head have increased, an effect which Hasbro hopes will be boosted by this deal with the Elvis Estate.
