Elton John’s mom to auction son’s memorabilia
September 28th, 2010 - 9:02 pm ICT by IANSToronto, Sep 28 (IANS) Singer Elton John’s mother has decided to auction her son’s memorabilia that she found while shifting.
Elton’s mother Sheila, who has shifted to a smaller house in London, discovered a host of items from his glittering career after clearing out her home and decided to put them under hammer. It includes tour jackets, more than 100 gold and platinum discs and VIP passes used by her to get into the singer’s gigs.
“Some (items) are autographed but, as his mum said, ‘Why would he sign it for me? I’m his mum.’,” torontosun.com quoted spokesperson Andrew Elliston-Elhinn from Gorringes auction house as saying.
The sale will take place Oct 19 at Gorringes in Sussex, south England.
John’s representative said: “She’s got 38 years worth of stuff that needs a new home.”
