Ellen Page Rumored as Possible ‘Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ Star

July 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Among the many different young stars which have been rumored to be the “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”, Ellen Page has joined the running with such actresses as Kristen Stewart who rose to fame in ‘Twilight’ or Mia Wasikowska, who was the latest ‘Alice in Wonderland’ star.
As Carey Mullligan squashes the rumors that she will play the part of Lisbeth Salander in the upcoming United States version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”, Page’s name moves into the whispered speculations. Mulligan told ‘EW” that she will not be playing the part. “I’m not, I’m afraid. I can officially quash that rumor once and for all. It’s not going to be me. But I’m excited to see it. I love the books and I think it will be great.”
The Swedish version of the movie has grossed in at over $100 million dollars and has just been released in the US. The American version is expected to be released into theaters on December 21 of 2011. Sony chairman Amy Pascal is calling the part of the role of Lisbeth Salander “the role every actress wants”.
