Sep 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Ellen DeGeneres stepped on stage wearing the usual jeans, but they were dressed up with a cream colored blazer over a white shirt and white scarf with white shoes. She spoke on the Emmys and the great acceptance speeches which were given. Ellen showed video “Andy” whom she had sent to the Red Carpet where many stars expressed their love for Ellen and read passages from her new book ‘Seriously..I’m Kidding’.

Ellen was very excited to be doing live television, and suddenly seemed a bit nervous when she noted that there would be no editing. She then danced around the audience to ‘Prince and the Revolution’ “Kiss.” Ellen then proceeded to make the man in charge of carrying out the strict FCC guidelines on her live show very nervous as she pretended that she was going to use swear words. The man stood with his hand on a button, ready to “bleep” out any such slip ups for the prime time television show.

Harry Connick Jr was Ellen’s co-host for the hour. He won an Emmy for Outstanding Music Direction, but admitted that he did not attend the Emmy Awards Show. He was given his award the previous week. They shared moments from the Emmy Awards Show which they felt were hilarious, and Ellen shared video of her housekeeper, Mindy, interviewing stars. Ellen then had a phone call from Emmy winner Melissa McCarthy before she and Harry Connick Jr discussed his new movie, “Dolphin Tale.”

The movie is based on a true story about a dolphin named “Winter” who was rehabilitated after losing it’s tale. Because the dolphin’s skin is so sensitive, they had to create a gel which is put on before the prosthetic can be put on. The gel worked so well, that it has been implemented for humans. Harry Connick Jr shared that he met a nine year old girl with a prosthetic leg who showed him, saying, “Look. I’m wearing ‘Winter’s Gel’.” the film also stars Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman.
