Elizabeth Taylor’s trailer to be auctioned

Los Angeles, Nov 18 (IANS) A trailer used by late actress Elizabeth Taylor on the sets of 1963 movie “Cleopatra”, is set to go under the hammer.
The heavily-customised Aljo dressing room/trailer cost moviemakers at Twentieth Century Fox a reported $75,000 so that the actress could prepare for takes surrounded by the opulence of ancient Egypt.
The trailer boasts of lavender carpeting, hand-painted ceilings and murals, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
“This special hideaway was designed to make the star feel like the Queen of Egypt and epitomises the epic extravagance of Cleopatra, the last of the old guard Hollywood films,” a spokesman for auction house Profiles in History said.
The trailer is likely fetch $50,000 to $75,000 at the auction.
The items in the trailer also include Taylor’s gold ceremonial dress and the original poster art for the movie.
